スモッキングとは、布をつまんで模様を作る技法の事を言います。

刺繍の技法として言われることが多く、布を細く畳んで細かいタックのヒダ山を作り、一本ずつヒダ山の上を刺繍糸ですくっていく技法を言います。

幼稚園児の制服として使われるスモックに多く見られるため、この名が付いたと言われています。

当店の製品では編地をつまんで山のようになるように、生地の裏から糸を渡しています。とても立体感が出て表情のある製品に仕上がるのが特徴です。
