縫い代がほつれないように布端を切りそろえながら縫ってい伸縮素材にも対応できるので、ニットソーイングにぴったりです。
仕様によって、糸を2本、3本、4本、5本使うものがあります。
小型のロックミシンは、主にオーバーロック専用機を指すことが多いが、カバーステッチ専用機もある。またオーバーロックおよびカバーステッチの両方が可能な複合機もあります。
